Pen & Ink and Colored Pencil Drawings

Artist's Statement:

The principal thing in art as in life is to learn to see things as they really are, and not as man perceives them to be.

I am primarily a pen and ink artist who does commissions of homes, historical sites and pets.  I also work in colored pencil and graphite.

After getting all our children in school, I ventured back to get my degree in Commercial Art and Advertising Design.  However, at the same time, I fell in love with pen and ink.  After working at newspapers and a screen printer’s for a time, I decided to free lance as a pen and ink artist.  I love restoring old homes on paper for someone to keep or give away for their memories.  I also carry local postcards in pen and ink.  I hand color some of these also.  I do painted canvas for needlepoint work, punch needle, or rug hooking.

My studio has perennial gardens off the front porch, with an herb garden under the gallery window and in pots on the front studio porch.
