Clay miniatures
Jane Graber was born in Elkhart, Indiana, although her family did quite a bit of moving and spent time in Alaska, Puerto Rico and England.
Her educational background was primarily within the Mennonite church schooling system, including the years in Puerto Rico. Jane graduated with a B.A. in Art from Goshen College.
Immediately following graduation, she worked as a full-time potter for Sauder Museum in Archbold, Ohio. Five years at the museum instilled a love of the late 1800s and influenced her decision to reproduce pottery from that time period in miniature. The majority of the designs she recreates were originally produce full-scale in Vermont, New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.
Her work can be seen in several shops in Nashville. Tours of her home studio are available only by appointment.
Jane is a guest artist at Mindy Weddle’s Carmel Ridge Clayworks.
